 The file "PW53UPDT.EXE" contains all Tax Table Updates and patches for Pay-Ware Versions received since the December 12th Year End Update.  This patch will "ONLY" work if you have already installed the 2004 Year End Update from that CD.

 Tax Table Changes Reported since the Dec. CD was sent out (see CD documentation for previous updates).

Program Fixes & Enhancements NEW in this Update

Quarterly Reporting/941 Processing - The new 2005 Quarterly 941 Report is included in this Update.

    - TAB 4 of Application Setup has a NEW "Tips Class" Field.  Earnings paid under the Attendance Codes linked to this Tips Earning Class get subtracted from other Wages and reported separately on Line 6c of the 941.

    - TAB 5 of Application Setup has a NEW "941 Deposit Frequency" Field.  Please fill it out.

    -  TAB 6  of Application Setup has a NEW "County ID" Field.  State Mag Media filers using ICESA Format should specify any required 3 digit code in this field.  This code is transferred to the "T Record" in the State UIWAGE File.

Direct Deposit - EE Master-Tab 7  Direct Deposit Enrollment& Enable/Disable Matrix Edits changed to ensure that data keyed is valid and system will process appropriately to Check or Deposit or Prenote when switches are changed.

Advice Printing - For enhanced Identity Protection, Account Numbers on Advices will now print as "xxxxxxx4321"

 

Issues fixed in previous Web Updates

AP Interface - Corrected edit to not require the APVEND file when not interfaced to PFW AP.

Employee Master - Verifies the the new Pay Period Override fields are initialized.

W2 Printing - Corrected typo's on plain paper W2 Captions- Copy A .     Correct Grand Total Amounts on EE Copies run.                    Note that totals on individual W2s are correct.

Computed Edit - Tax W/H on Supplemental wages >$1MM.  Withholding is 35% on all earnings above $1MM limit             (i.e. with zero supplemental wages to date – a $2Mil check must withhold $600,000 (250+350) )

 

Special Instructions

To download, save the file "PW53UPDT.EXE" to any folder  (e.g. F:\Download) with drive access to Platinum System data.  Next, be sure Pay-Ware is not in use &  go to  <Start> <Run> and browse to where you saved "PW53UPDT.EXE" - select and run it following the instructions on the screen.  The update should run to completion.  

ONCE THE UPDATE IS INSTALLED then start Pay-Ware.  Upon launching any Pay-Ware Menu option, you should be prompted to Update your Client Files When this is complete, you should be able to INITIALIZE THE NEW TAX TABLE. [GO TO UTILITIES >INITIALIZE FILES].  You will then see a Warning Message - Click YES - then a list of files will appear.  SELECT #10 TAX TABLES - the Filename PBTAX] will then appear - Click Yes again.  Then Close the "Initialize Files" Window.  If you process multiple companies, you will need to repeat this initialization for EVERY company.  You will get a warning message on your Computed Edit Report "Your Tax Tables May BE Out of Date" if you fail to do this step.
